Art with decommissioned wind turbine blades

4 August, 2021

Our director Chris Hornzee-Jones was happy to assist with sourcing decommissioned wind turbine blades for an artistic life-cycle repurposing of the material. For "Windflower", Wildflowers were directly sown into planters made from 50 m long wind turbine blades. The beautiful exhibition can be found outside the Goethe Institut in London until the end of October 2020, as part of a  collaboration of "Urban Radicals" with Adam Harris from Brighton firm Millimetre

Incidentally Aerotrope has another connection to those repurposed blades, since we provided engineering services in the development of these particular wood-carbon ones 20 years ago. Life-cycle indeed.
